 "analysis": {
  "note": "Jabbit analysis. ARA-290 (cibinetide) is an 11-amino-acid peptide designed from erythropoietin (EPO) to keep EPO's tissue-protective effects without raising red blood cells. Rodent studies reported long-lasting relief of nerve pain. Six small human trials (9 to 64 people, 218 in all, mostly 4 weeks of treatment) tested it in sarcoidosis nerve damage, type 2 diabetes neuropathy, a mood model and diabetic eye swelling. Early trials reported symptom gains; in the largest, a 64-person phase 2b, the main nerve-fiber goal was met in one of three dose groups, pain improved in all groups including placebo, and posted registry averages for pain were similar to placebo. The diabetic eye trial found no vision benefit and was terminated after its study drug expired. No trial is active on ClinicalTrials.gov. It holds FDA and EU orphan designations for sarcoidosis-related uses but is not approved anywhere we found; FDA lists it in 503A category 3. Most trials were run with, funded by or co-authored by staff of the developer, Araim Pharmaceuticals, per the papers' disclosures."
